"We Are a Happy Family!"

It's that time of year... The time when Christmas cards help us to keep in touch with all those people we care so much about-- so, a current family picture needed to be taken!

We went down to the train tracks in Prosper, and we found this great train car. The following pictures are what we got from our short half-hour photo shoot in the mud, with the cold weather, and with me setting the timer and running to get in the shot before the camera went "click":

Audrey was surprisingly happy for this photo shoot... so was Kevin! We were all pleasantly surprised!

Super baby!

"I love mommy, yes sirree, we love trevor, yes indeed. Cam and kevin are great as is audrey, and we all love daddy and he loves us.... we are a happy family!"

K, those aren't the exact words of the primary song-- but we ARE a happy family!

Just to see you smile...

It was an incredibly long and rather dreadful day at work today. So, after returning home completely beat and a little down, I went to my sister's blog, only to find my spirits lifted after watching three darling videos of Audrey waving "bye-bye", Audrey dancing to the Holly Berries song, and Audrey jamming on the piano. Then I came across this video:

Whistling Puppy @ Yahoo! Video

... & it totally just put the icing on the cake!

Oh, and I totally connect with this video on a deeper note, because I too cannot whistle. Like the sweet little mutt, though, I make do with what I've got :)

What a quality show!

Doogie Howser was on the air a bit before my time... Luckily, Hulu has it online. After watching the pilot, I think I'm in love with this kid!

For your viewing pleasure:

Thank You, Officer Power-Trip!

Wow...

I just dropped Anne-Marie off in the great city of Celina, and what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a miniature man and eight flashing lights in my rear-view mirror! What was my crime, might you ask? For I asked the same-- speeding? No... 41 miles exactly. Stop completely at the stop sign? Check and check! What ever could it be at 12:00 midnight that these flashing lights could be coming after me for? I pull over as I'm blinded by the light:

"Is there a problem, Officer?"
I sheepishly ask.

"Well, is there a reason you didn't use your blinker when making that right hand turn out of the neighborhood back there?"

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it's true... I was pulled over by a bored, power-tripping police man at midnight on a back country road after failing to turn on my blinker as I was turning out of a remote neighborhood in a small Texas town.

Really?!

Luckily, I was graced with a mere warning from Officer Power-Trip as he cautioned me to be wary of turning on my blinker at least 100 feet before turning in the future.

Thank you, kind Officer, for protecting our community from dangerous non-blinker using drivers like me!

"Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!"

I woke up to Trevor singing this song at 7:00 this morning. I became alert quite suddenly, and looked out my window... Sure enough, this is what I saw:

My first thought was, "Is school canceled?"

Then I realized I don't have a school to be canceled!

I then thought, "Ooh, maybe work is canceled!"

Then I realized, I want to go to work... I hope it's not canceled!

Then I thought, "Oh, no... I'm an adult!!"

So, in a saddened act of depression, I snapped a picture of the wintry wonderland, sent it to Lance in Waco, and went back to sleep 'till I had to go to the a fore mentioned work.
And THAT is how I woke up this morning:
excitement--> realization--> depression.

Maybe Santa Clause will bring me back my childhood for Christmas...

However, even as an adult, the snow sure is pretty when it makes the houses blend into the skies!

I don't think Jony has missed the snow though... Although, this is our favorite kind of snow-- the kind that falls, looks pretty, then melts hours later :)

The pumpkins looked like they were freezing!

Despite being older than dirt, I just love it when it snows in Texas... Especially when it's unexpected, like it was this morning! There's just something magical about it!

Happy Wednesday :)

Audrey loves her Grandma...

These girls do all sorts of things together!
...And they're so cute while running all their various errands!

A girl and her grandma... it's a beautiful thing :)

A Little Bit of Christmas Goodness

I found this idea in one of my mom's many cooking magazines, and I fell in love with it.

So, while I was out doing a little bit of Christmas shopping, I found these darling Wilton cookie cutters on sale...
So, I bought ten!

I gathered all the stuff to make the fudge (my first fudge-making endeavor, I might add!) and it was delicious! Much thanks goes out to my mama for supervising the process-- It is due to her we got the timing all right, and ended up with edible Christmas goodness!

Once the fudge was made, I packed it in the cookie cutters, let it harden a little bit, and then came the fun part:

I used icing that would harden and gave the little guys faces, buttons, sleeves, and pant legs. After the icing dried, I put them in cellophane bags tied with a festive ribbon around it. They made great visiting teaching gifts, cheerful 'thank you' gifts, and wonderful neighbor gifts-- This is such a fun, and darling, way to spread some holiday cheer!

November is a Great Month to Have a Birthday!

Cami and I are blessed enough to have birthdays that kick off the end of the year holiday season-- two days apart from each other no less! To kick off 'Birthday Season' this year, my sweet visiting teacher- Alison Whitney, brought me these delicious chocolate cupcakes that had york peppermint patties in them. Her sweet daughter got the recepie from the Martha Stewart Cupcake Book, and decided to share with me for my birthday!
It was a scrumptious way to kick off my birthday!

We celebrated my birthday on Sunday November 22. I got to pick dinner-- and we had Grandma LeSueur's Red Chicken and her broccoli salad with homemade scalloped potatoes, Lion House rolls with honey butter, and a fruit pizza for dessert!

Goodness, look at all those candles!

Rome is burning...

Cam's birthday was Wednesday November 25, so we gave her her presents after Thanksgiving dinner and we had her ooy gooey chocolatey birthday cake for dessert Sunday November 29...

It was delicioso!
